Business Connector is a WebServices API that integrates content management with other applications. Business Connector allows you to manage externally updated information within Content Manager providing full integration with other business-critical applications. Business Connector provides access to Content Manager functionality from any platform, using any programming language.
Transformed content
Business Connector can transform non-SDL Tridion format XML to SDL Tridion R5 XML format. Using Business Connector you can also update SDL Tridion R5 content based on updates in an external application by mapping external IDs to SDL Tridion URIs.
Extended capabilities
You can extend the capabilities of Business Connector architecture using cartridges that implement a specific protocol or that integrate with Business Connector. For example, you can create a cartridge that allows Web content contributors to add content by sending an e-mail. Business Connector can then translate the content of the e-mail to XML content and add it Content Manager.
