SDL Tridion is the first to offer fully integrated Global Web Content Management and Translation Management

Amsterdam, Netherlands

SDL Tridion announced today the release of Translation Manager 2.0. With this release, SDL Tridion provides a complete solution for organizations who want to provide an enriched customer experience for global markets.

Translation Manager 2.0 bridges SDL Tridion’s Web Content Management and SDL translation technology, providing the industry’s first and most comprehensive Global Web Content Management solution. By combining these award-winning technologies, the integrated product now offers multinational organizations an integrated solution to compete in today’s global economy.

The combined WCM and translation management solution enables organizations to create and translate content once, and re-use it across all Web requirements in corporate communication, marketing, sales and customer service or support in any language. This ensures efficient processes for both consistent and high quality translations.

Language and localization are important concerns for companies that have an international reach. By integrating translation as part of the business process, Translation Manager simplifies the execution of global marketing initiatives. Content authors can send text for translation with a single mouse-click.

Translation Manager automatically sends the content into a translation workflow, without the need to copy-paste content into e-mails or Word documents. A fully integrated translation workflow process assigns the content, localizes content and notifies translations managers and translators of their current tasks. As a result contributors involved in the translation process can perform Web site translation through a centralized system that is fully integrated with their companies Web site management.

Olivia Gambin, Web Communications Manager at Atlas Copco says, “Tight integration of authoring and content management with translation assets ensures previous translations are reused wherever possible. As Web sites are an integral part of Atlas Copco’s communication, marketing, sales and support strategy, this is a significant saving for us. With this integrated solution, Atlas Copco is delivering a consistent, multilingual customer experience, effectively managing an otherwise complex supply chain and taking advantage of our multilingual content via the centralized language repository. Locally, we can update the Web presence in an efficient and effective manner. We are very pleased with this Global Web Content Management solution.”

Erik Aeyelts Averink, President Products & Solutions at SDL Tridion: “Less than ten percent of the world’s population speaks English as their native language. To compete globally, organizations are more and more hard-pressed to provide their online content in many different languages to broaden their reach. The integration of the Translation Manager solution and the SDL Tridion Content Management System significantly lowers costs of translation process and dramatically improves time to market.”
